On Wednesday, July 28, 2010, La'akea was awarded his cub scout Wolf badge. He also got his Bowling belt loop and pin, and his Outdoors and Achievement ribbon for the 100 year BSA celebration on the same night. He has until December to attain the other 3 ribbons to get all 5. He was also awarded his Gold Arrowpoint and 2 Silver Arrowpoints for doing 30 different things in the elective program. We are so proud of him for this accomplishment! In a couple of days, he will be turning 9 and its on to working his way towards earning his Bear badge in the next year!
He got a free 100 year celebration t-shirt and a bunch of awards and certificates. I don't know if i'll be as good as Grandma Linda was at saving all of this things in a organized fashion. She recently gave Matt all of his awards from cub and boys scouts in a binder from 25 - 30 years ago!

Aunty Avis Kaona is La'akea's den leader and this project fulfilled a photography elective and they were able to put the pictures they took in a home made scrapbook.

On the same night, after all the awards were presented to various cub scouts, they moved on to the Sailboat Rain Gutter Regatta Race!

He was very excited about his boat winning a few races.
But as time went on, I don't think his lung capacity could survive racing over and over again against all the participants!

The refreshments reminded me that summertime was slowly coming to an end and that made me sad...it was nice staying at home with my kids through the summer...can't wait until fall break!
