Happy New Year!

Uncle Greg strung up a load of fireworks on a stick and tied it to his fence for one last big blast at midnight as Kamalei and daddy look on! Happy New Year Everyone!

It was a full moon that night and we were going to take a moonlight walk on the Kealia bike path at 7:30pm that night but it was very cloudy so uncle Greg cancelled the walk. By the end of the night the sky cleared up and we were able to see the "Blue Moon." They say that the next Blue Moon won't come again until 2028. So that's where the saying, "Once in a Blue Moon...." comes from.

Our neighbors started shooting illegal fireworks in the sky! We really enjoyed watching them. They were awesome!

As we were waiting for midnight to arrive, the kids (or more so the adults) started getting bored with the fireworks outside. So the big kids came in to play dice and card games with Grandma Linda.

Kahi yau-yau!

When Ryan and Kamalei got tired of sparklers, they started throwing and stomping on poppers!

Even with all the smoke, that didn't stop Ry Ry from playing with sparklers with his dad!

Alaka'i is La'akea's partner in crime. They are always coming up with something together. Like putting fireworks in a bucket full of water!

Kamalei and his sparklers! He wanted to light them himself with the candle and by the end of the night he had wax all over his clothes and himself!

Makaio and his mosquito punk to light his fireworks.

We went to Greg and Michelle's home for New Years Eve dinner...a saimin bar that was onolicious! The kids had so much fun popping fireworks. Beware...there are a lot of pictures to see!
